We are called to be strong companions...

and clear mirrors to one another,
to seek those who reflect with compassion
and a keen eye how we are doing,
whether we seem centered or off course ...
we need the nourishing company of others
to create the circle needed for growth,
freedom and healing.
Wayne Muller

 Hello friends,

I chose this quote to start writing again
because it really speaks to my heart.
Reflecting back on life is like a test.
We seem to do this in our mid-life.
We look back upon our lives and rehash mistakes,
pain, things we could have done differently and our joys.
The true test is when we realize the things we did wrong
and are able to change them. We must be able to
critique ourselves in an honest way to do this.
When we lie to ourselves and others we do not grow.
We stay stagnant in a puddle of confusion.
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" Romans 3 verse 23.
None of us are perfect and while we are here on Earth
we will never be perfect. Knowing that,
we must get over ourselves.
There are no do overs only do betters!
We all have the ability to do better.
Notice I never said it would be easy... however, it will be worth it!

One thing I found to help me change for the better is helping others.
In helping others we learn to understand
all things really do happen for a reason.
We see their hurts, mistakes and life through their eyes...
In doing so, we see our own lives differently.
We see how we may be similar.
We see, eventually, that there are more similarities
between other people and ourselves.
It can actually change our view on people in general.
Sometimes I notice that I am able to be a bit kinder to myself
by being compassionate towards others and their needs too.
It teaches me, not only how to be a good friend/companion,
but to be a good caretaker of myself as well.
It IS a win-win situation!
The joy of learning about yourselves and others
will become clearly noticeable
soon after you begin caring for others.

You also gain a friend!
Every person you meet in life might not stay in your life for long,
but they sure will teach you something.
Sometimes good and sometimes bad...
If we begin to see everything in life as a lesson,
it gets easier to understand and to deal with disappointments.
Well, at least that has all helped me...
Maybe it will help you!

Let us reach out to others!
Let us begin to treat others in the manner we wish to be treated!
Let us make a wonderful, peaceful change one person at a time!
God Bless you all!

  1. No doubt a lot to consider when looking back. Life is a test for our loyalty and attention towards God. It's for us to stay far from Vain Glory and Self-Indulgence. To remain humble, kind, and simple in the service of God. God's love made perfect because of Jesus Christ.

We did not ask to be in this world, but know that God is just and righteous. We live in a fallen world this is obvious due to disobedience. God must separate the impurities of distraction within his realm. Judgement is necessary, but also know that God has indeed earned the right to judge all by coming to earth and walking in our shoes. Having lives a life in the flesh God has earned the right to judge his creation fairly. Glory to our Lord Jesus Christ. Savior of the World. This is why our God is truly great ! ! !

  2. Also heard a good talk this week at our weekend retreat that our weaknesses and faults belong to God. It was an interesting and enlightening perspective for sure.
